FOUNDATION SUCCESS REACHES NEW HEIGHTS
July 28th, 2008 in Make Dreams RealSPECIAL THANKS TO ALL CLUBS IN DISTRICT 7730
Congratulations District 7730 Rotarians!
Several milestones have been reached in the support of our Rotary Foundation during the Rotary year ending June 30, 2008.
Total giving to our Rotary Foundation exceeded a quarter million dollars for the first time ($253,063.54).
Total giving to the Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund (Paul Harris Fellows & Sustaining Members) was $248,224.54, which is an all-time record, and up 10.4% above previous record in 2006-2007.
Per capita giving to the Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund was $121.68 per Rotarian, also an all-time record, and up 11.3% above the previous record in 2006-2007 of $109.00 per capita. It has not been that long ago, 4 years to be exact, that our giving was less than $65.00 per Rotarian across the district. This is an amazing turn around.
For the first time, 50% of our clubs (24) gave in excess of $100 per Rotarian to our Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund. 5 clubs averaged above $200 per capita, and one club at over $300.00 per capita. The top three in per capita giving and the top three in total giving will be recognized during Rotary Foundation Month in October.
Thanks to our hard working District Rotary Foundation Committee, and especially, Mark Lynch, APF Chair, DGE Nancy Barbee, Permanent Fund Chair Pam Wall, District Governor Wilson Ray, for helping to make this a banner year for support of our Foundation.
The most important thing is to recognize the tremendous good that can be done from these funds raised, both at home and abroad. There has never been a more important time to advance peace, goodwill and international understanding in our world.
