I just returned home from an amazing weekend with 92 young RYLA leaders. The RYLA weekend was a great success! Our young people learned leadership skills that will help them succeed in life and give back to their communities. They made life-long friends and they had fun!

RYLA Photographer Stephen Pederson has a CD of hundreds of wonderful pictures of RYLA for you to keep and to copy for the RYLArians that you sponsored this year. Send $2, for postage and handling, to Stephen at 97 Packett Circle, Pope Air Force Base, NC 28308, and he will mail you a CD.

Be sure to invite your RYLAians to speak at your Rotary clubs. You will be in for a treat, and your fellow Rotarians will thank you for doing so.

Many thanks to District RYLA Chair Keith King for his tireless efforts to make our District RYLA a success, to our Rotary volunteers, and to all of our Rotary leaders for your support of this extraordinary event!

Rotary Foundation Thought of the Week

Brought to you each week by PDG Bevin Wall, District Rotary Foundation Chair; and reproduced courtesy of http://www.rotary.org

This week’s Rotary Foundation Thought is about Humanitarian Programs in East Asia related to education.

The Japanese Rotary club of Omiya City Rotary (as reported through The Rotary-No-Tomo, the English language Rotary Magazine) has built schools and provided books in Bang Kong, Cambodia. The Nabari Chuoh Rotary has built a library for children of the Suoi Day Elementary and Junior High School in Vietnam. So many projects like these show Rotarians’ dedication to education and literacy.

Rotarians are proud of their long history as sponsors for Educational Programs. Yearly support to the Annual Programs Fund’s Every Rotarian Every Year initiative ensures the tradition of educational excellence is upheld.

For more information on giving or program participation, contact PDG Bevin Wall District 7730 Rotary Foundation Chair at Bevin@RLI33.org .
