“Rotary Shares” — Rotary International (2007 - 2008)

August is Membership Month — Membership Seminars will offer “Buffalo Brainstorming”. District Membership Chair PDG Johnny Robertson and District Trainer Bob Stinson will conduct four Membership Seminars in September. We will focus on membership retention and the “WE CARE” program. For our main feature, we offer “Buffalo Brainstorming”, a unique and fun way to share ideas that will have you on your feet and engaged! You might ask, “What is “Buffalo Brainstorming”? Attend the Membership Seminar and find out.

Presidents, presidents-elect, Membership Chairs, and new members! We encourage your attendance! The seminars will be held as follows:

  • Wed., Sept. 6th — Kings BBQ, Kinston (Areas 8)
  • Wed., Sept. 13th — TBA, somewhere in Jacksonville or Swansboro (Areas 1 & 2)
  • Wed., Sept. 20th — Highland Country Club, Fayetteville (Areas, 5, 6, & & 7)
  • Wed., Sept. 27th — Lily’s, Wilmington (Areas 3, 4, & 7)

If you cannot make the membership seminar for your designated area, you are welcome at any of the seminars.

District Speakers Bureau

The District Speakers Bureau Roster is on the District website, and also in the July edition of the district newsletter. We encourage you to use the services of the Speakers Bureau and bring the fascinating world of Rotary into your club.

We are also interested in how the Speakers Bureau is working for you. Please give feedback to District Trainer Bob Stinson at Bob@plangoals.com or to me at jaykapner@gmail.com. We want this to be a quality resource for you.

Rotary Foundation Thought of the Week

Brought to you each week by PDG Bevin Wall, District Rotary Foundation Chair; and reproduced courtesy of www.rotary.org

This week’s Rotary Foundation Thought is about participating in Foundation programs in our community and across the globe.

We make our annual contributions to The Rotary Foundation knowing that 50 percent of that gift will come right back to our district in three years to be used for humanitarian and educational programs chosen by us. This includes Ambassadorial Scholars, Matching Grants, and District Simplified Grants that may be used for projects in our local community.

The other 50 percent also benefits our district indirectly, because it is used to fund a variety of programs in which we can participate. The Rotary Foundation is our Foundation. It is critical that we take ownership of it and do what we can to change and save lives, in our community and across the globe.

For more information on giving or program participation, contact PDG Bevin Wall District 7730 Rotary Foundation Chair at Bevin@RLI33.org . Our Rotary Thought is reproduced courtesy of www.rotary.org

Club Presidents ~ You might want to read these Rotary Foundation “Thoughts of the Week” at the start of each club meeting.

District Leaders ~ have you made your contribution to The Rotary Foundation yet? Lead the Way today while its still July.
