Congratulations to our Newest Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Trenton
On May 30, 2007, Rotary International officially welcomed the Rotary Club of Trenton into the family of Rotary. At the Trenton Rotary Club Charter Night on June 5, we celebrated our newest Rotary club as it met the membership requirements of Rotary International by welcoming its 20th member. Under the very able leadership of Club President Lisa Yanni, the Trenton Rotary Club has devoted the past year to learning about Rotary and to providing a tremendous amount of hands-on service to the Trenton community. Many thanks to Past Assistant Governor Chuck Van Horne, District Extension Chair, for mentoring the club throughout the year, to Assistant Governor DGND Nancy Barbee for initiating the formation of the Trenton Rotary Club and for helping to recruit its members, to the Maysville and Pollocksville Rotary Clubs for sponsoring the Trenton Rotary Club, and to the Rotary Clubs of Maysville, Pollocksville, New River (Onslow), Red Springs, Kinston, Lenoir County, Kinston Evening, and La Grange for your generous gifts. Congratulations Rotary Club of Trenton!
Congratulations to DGND Nancy Barbee, 2007-08 GSE Team Leader to India
The GSE selection committee met last week and selected DGND Nancy Barbee to serve as GSE Team leader for the 2007-08 Group Study Exchange Team slated to visit District 3250 in India. The committee will meet again next month to interview 13 young non-Rotarian candidates to represent our district in India. Congratulations, Nancy Barbee!
Rotary Foundation Thought of the Week
Brought to you each week by PDG Bevin Wall, District Rotary Foundation Chair; and reproduced courtesy of www.rotary.org
This week’s Rotary Foundation Thought is about meeting your personal financial objectives while supporting the humanitarian and educational programs of your Rotary Foundation.
Rotarians make the Foundation’s worldwide programs possible with generous and regular outright contributions. While charitable giving is its own reward, you may be pleased to learn that your gifts can often be tailored to meet a variety of personal and financial goals as well. In some countries, donating a capital asset such as stock securities and real estate may provide you with additional tax benefits.
