“Rotary Shares” — Rotary International (2007 - 2008)

“All Quality Clubs, Everyone Involved”

Full Belly Project
This week at the Carter Center in Atlanta, the most famous peanut farmer in the world got an in-depth look at the “Full Belly Project” peanut sheller. I share your pride that this peanut sheller, invented right here in District 7730, will improve the lives of many thousands of people in Uganda and in places where peanuts are a staple. I have no doubt that this week’s meeting will make a big difference in expediting the project’s success!

Rotaract at UNCW
2006-07 District Rotaract Chair Sean Desmond and John Grimes of the Wilmington Rotary Club have been hard at work to revive the UNCW Rotaract Club. This week, they got help from District Treasurer Joe Pascal of the Wilmington Cape Fear Rotary Club. Joe, a mentor for the UNCW Cameron School of Business Executive Network, has received a commitment from a many of UNCW’s top business students to promote Rotaract throughout the business school.

News from the District
Since I live in Wilmington, getting Rotary success stories from Wilmington (such as the above) is never a problem. However, beginning July 1 (or even earlier), I would like to hear news of Rotary accomplishments from all over the district. I commit to you that I will spread the word! I know that we are all proud of each other’s accomplishments.
