What Paul Harris Said

“Love is mightier than hate. Give it one-half the advertising that hate has had and there will be no more war.” (The Rotarian Magazine, February 1924)

Every Month is Membership Month

If we are to grow our membership we have to “lead the way” and “lead by example.” We cannot delegate this responsibility–somewhere in your community is someone who wants to be a Rotarian. But, they have to be asked–they have to be invited to a club meeting and they have to be invited to join. It will not happen by accident. Please don’t wait for someone else to do it for you. For more information contact our District Membership Chair, PDG Johnny Robertson at E-mail johnsfuel@embarqmail.com.

United Nations–Rotary Speakers Programme

A new United Nations-Rotary Speakers Programme has been developed to provide Rotary clubs an opportunity to tap into the expertise available at the United Nations. The program, now being piloted in the United States, makes UN experts available to speak at special club meetings, or other Rotary events with more than 100 participants. For more information go to ers@rotary.org.

Help us to tell your Club’s story

Many, many good things are going on your Club–but, only you and your members will know about them unless you share the good news. Help us to spread the word. Send it to me at bronco549@aol.com and I’ll do the rest.

Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY, pronounced ee ray)

Our RI giving goal is that every Rotarian contribute at least $100.00 to the Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund during the year. Many clubs add $25.00 to monthly dues, others do it by fundraising, some use matching funds, etc.. Foundation giving is one of the elements of an effective Rotary Club. The idea and hope are that every Rotarian will contribute something to our Foundation. For more information contact our District RI Foundation Chair, PDG Bevin Wall at Bevin@RLI33.org.

The Weekly Rotary Foundation Thought

This week’s Rotary Foundation Thought is about becoming a Paul Harris Fellow.

When you complete your first $1000.00 gift to The Rotary Foundation you can be named a Paul Harris Fellow — or choose to name someone else. your first $1000.00 is a very important benchmark because it gets you started on the lifelong journey of supporting our Rotary Foundation. Each time you reach another $1000.00 level, a new recognition pin is awarded. While some donors are capable of giving $1000.00 at once, many Rotarians make smaller gifts regularly to reach higher PHF levels. Every Rotarian, Every Year is a reminder to all of us to donate generously to the Foundation and to do so annually.

For more information on giving or program participation, contact our District Rotary Foundation Chair PDG Bevin Wall at Bevin@RLI33.org.
