Go Door-to-Door for New Rotarians

“By going outside your comfort zone, you can discover many men and women who would make good Rotarians,” says Bob Kelley, an RI membership Zone coordinator and member of the Rotary Club of Selma, Alabama. “Just before becoming club president, I realized how many businesses I had never stopped into because I might not have needed to wallpaper a room or practice martial arts.” For months, Kelley made a point of going into every store in town that he’d never visited, and as a result, seven new members joined his club.

Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI)

Remember, one of our District Goal’s this year is that every Club send at least two members to this powerful, fast-paced, interactive, one-day course offered to refine a Rotarian’s leadership skills and increase their base of knowledge in Rotary. The next training event is on 27 October at Methodist University in Fayetteville. Registration cutoff date is eight days prior to the event. For registration information go to www.rli33.org.

District Newsletter Articles Needed

Please let me spread the “good news” about things that are happening in your Clubs–all I need is a digital picture and a narrative and I’ll do the rest. Send information to me via E-mail at bronco549@aol.com.

Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY)?h3>
One of our District Goals for this year is that we all give something to the Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund–and hopefully we can do that in such a way that we will average at least $100.00 per member across the District. This past year we averaged $109.00 per member, the first time in our District’s history that we broke the $100.00 average. Please keep the momentum–we can do even better than that!!!

More About Membership
Maybe your Club should consider obtaining space in a prominent shop window to display information about the Club’s activities in the community. Once you see that list in writing, chances are that even you will be amazed at all the good things that you and your Club members do for the community–and chances are that non-rotarians who see the list will be amazed, too. Remember, everyone wants to be on a winning team–invite them to be on your’s!!!

Weekly Rotary Foundation Fundraising Strategy

Leverage with a Beverage–Some like their beverages hot, as in coffee, and some like it over ice. Either way, the Madison West Towne-Middleton Rotary Club Foundation Chair (District 6250) invited over for drinks her club’s most “passionate about Rotary” members. She asked them do two things to support what they love — make a contribution to The Rotary Foundation, and to ask four or five other members in the club to do the same. Her club, which previously had only modest success with fundraising for the Foundation, is now guaranteed to post over $100.00 per capita this year through quarterly invoicing. What did the trick?? She said, “I just asked!!”

Give “Every Rotarian, Every Year” the opportunity to support our Rotary Foundation. For more information on devising a strategy for your club or on district giving or program participation, contact our District Foundation Chairman, PDG Bevin Wall at Bevin@RLI33.org.
