What Are These Events and Why Are They Important??
This is training and is designed to answer questions about anything having to do with the Rotary Foundation and it’s programs. Questions concerning Polio, GSE, Grants, Ambassadorial Scholars, and Peace Scholars are answered here. Also, questions concerning how to fill out and read those challenging reports and forms and why they are needed are answered. Foundation Seminars usually take place some time in the last summer or early fall of the Rotary year.
Our 2010-2011 Foundation Seminar will take place on August 28th at the Mad Boar in Wallace.
The Foundation Banquet takes place during the month of November (Foundation Month) and is a celebration of the previous year’s Foundation successes.
Our 2010-2011 Foundation Banquet will take place on November 4th at the River Landing Country Club in Wallace.
These are new events for 2010-2011. One event will be held in Clinton and the other event will be held in Jacksonville. These events will be a mid year celebration and will promote RI programs and membership. More information and exact locations TBA.
District Conference is a celebration of the year and our many accomplishments. It is a time to meet new friends, renew old friendships, learn new things, take part in hands on service projects, hear our GSE teams and other Foundation program recipients, hear about RI programs and generally have a great time with fellow Rotarians. For the next 3 years, our District Conference will be Pinehurst during the first weekend in March. The second annual Youth Conference will be a one day event during the District Conference. Remember, we are not only a member of a club but of a District, Zone, and Rotary International.
Our District Conference is March 4-6, 2011 in Pinehurst. SEE YOU THERE!!!
PETS (President Elect Training Seminar) is an opportunity for new PE’s to meet District leaders, their Governor, Zone and International leaders, and fellow President Elects from North and South Carolina. This is required of all incoming presidents by Rotary International. Please have your President Elect named by the end of August so they can start receiving information from DGE Mark Lynch, the 2011-2012 Governor.
Next year PETS is March 17-19, 2011 in Greensboro, N.C.
Please visit http://www.carolinaspets.org for more information.
Just as President Elects need training, other club officers and leaders need training at the beginning of each new Rotary year. District Assembly is usually held in April or May so please mark your calendars. Exact date for 2011-2012 TBA.
Semi Annual Dues are sent from Rotary International in July and January of each year. By now, your club secretary should have received them for July. This shows your club membership and how much is owed to RI. If the dues are not paid, your club is in jeopardy of losing its charter so please pay them on time. Club presidents have to sign the report so if you haven’t seen them, please ask your secretary about them.
District dues are sent to club secretaries in September and March so please do not confuse them with RI Semi Annual Dues. If you have questions about them please contact District Finance Chair Andy Chused.
